takes a village…
A well-known saying when it comes to raising children. And that applies just as much to our event child. Wondering who will make sure you can attend the spiciest and steamiest event of the year?
We take you behind the scenes.
We are Kris, Mariëlle and Saphira. Together we form the creative and organizational team of the Spicy & Steamy Book Event.
All three of us read and write in the spicy and steamy genre – a genre close to our hearts. So with a creative mind and a whole lot of imagination, we know how to put together a unique event.
We are all inclusive: whether you read monster smut or prefer a cozy romance, you’re welcome to join us either way. What doesn’t float your boat (or wet your panties), it does another. The same goes for organization, enthusiasm, professionalism and a welcoming atmosphere. What we share is that we want the Spicy & Steamy Event to be the highlight of the year for you. Because you, as a lover of romantic literature, deserve the most fun day out of the year. And we’d love to make that happen for you!

Kris van Coenen
Author, Editor, Lover of books
Kris is an author of spicy and fantasy books, editor, your biggest cheerleader and passionate language expert. With her expertise, she helps authors take their stories to the next level. A true book lover, she combines her love of language and creativity to inspire readers and writers alike.
Kris climbs into the phone or email when needed. If something can’t be done within the box, she likes to think about possibilities outside the box. With a background in complaint handling, a solution can always be found.
Her favorite book is Wolfsong by T.J. Klune when it comes to Spicy & Steamy books.

Mariëlle Brouwer
Author, Translator, Sometimes lies in front of the mailbox waiting for a book she already has three copies of.
Mariëlle is the author of spicy band and dark romance books. She also translates books from English into Dutch for everyone to enjoy.
Mariëlle puts everything in motion and also makes sure that everything is organized behind the scenes for everyone. She keeps lists, communications and finances under control with her keen eye for detail.
Her favorite book is a delicate issue. She refuses to answer this. You don’t ask someone which child is her favorite, do you? No. Mariëlle loves them all. Constancy is thus one of her core qualities. When the mmc is dark, broken and broody, it’s her jam.

Saphira Hoevenaars
Author, Upcoming talent, Bookdragon
Saphira is the upcoming talent as an author of fantasy and spicy cozy romance books. She has a great love for romance and loves to search for new gems.
She keeps a tight grip on the reins, a trait that reflects her management skills. Like the heroines in the books she reads, she doesn’t shy away from anything. Saphira knows how to get it all together business-wise to give you a fine experience. After all, with a little imagination, much more is possible than you think.
Her favorite books are the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, the Bridge Kingdom series and Butcher & Blackbird.
